Project Description
Develop a whole device model of a fusion reactor, using separate codes for edge and core, and optimize it for Exascale and pre-Exascale machines. The users at Argonne are primarily focused on the GENE fusion code used for the core simulation.
Testbed
DG-X machines, specifically x86_64 with Volta GPUs. This is needed because the GENE team in Germany has x86_64 machines, and they are seeing bugs that I can’t reproduce on Power9. Power9 + Volta access would also be helpful.
